Uiiverse (pronounced "ju i vɜrs") was a Miiverse clone created by meltstrap and FunnyBone. The original goal of Uiiverse was to be a sucessor to Wiiverse, another Miiverse clone created by FunnyBone. The Miiverse clone was released on January 4th 2019 and it's based on Ziiverse (by Ben)

History[]

  •  There was a fight during Wiiverse's lifespan, which almost led to the end of Wiiverse. meltstrap decided to make Uiiverse to surpass the "dead" service. However Wiiverse didn't shutdown and caused Uiiverse to stay dorment for a few months.
  • One day during June, Wiiverse shutdown due to inactivity. This caused Wiiverse developer FunnyBone to ask meltstrap to help develop Uiiverse. This cause a revival to the service.
  • The clone was planned to be made from scratch, but due to inconveniences, Ziiverse's code was used.
  • Uiiverse got leaked before the launch and it was raided. The posts on that raid were removed before the launch.
  • Uiiverse was launched on January 4th, 2019 with some mixed reviews. The clone was raided again after the launch. These posts were removed as well.
  • Weeks later the service was suspended for maintenance and on February 6th, 2019 it was brought back with some bugs.
  • Months later due to API issues and drama in the Miiverse clone community, the registration system stopped working.
  • On June 17th, 2019, Uiiverse's registration system was fixed and the databases were archived due to corruption issues.
  • On June 21st, 2019, Uiiverse was translated to Spanish and on June 22nd, 2019 to Russian.
  • A massive raid On March 24th, 2020 caused Uiiverse to shutdown registration once again, along with promoting Raccoondude to a moderator.
  • On July 13th, 2020, Uiiverse was replaced with a page explaining that Uiiverse had been killed by its creator and detailed the actions of a well-known Miiverse Clone user, SMF9/DaKux/Izkiu against various people, most notably LunaIsNotABoy (former owner of multiple clones made with or without SMF9, and is also known as stampylongr) and Red. The page is still up on the website and advises users to switch to a federation-based software (e.g. Mastodon, Misskey, Pleroma, etc.).
